As the semester begins to wind down, the Alex. Brown Center is still full speed ahead!  Please find below our latest updates and opportunities for you!


CBIC Finale Results


Thursday, April 30th


The results are in!  On Thursday, April 30th, the Alex. Brown Center hosted the CBIC Finale at Betamore.  After an evening of heavy hors d'oeuvre, and six competitive pitches, the panel of judges took on the difficult task of ranking each pitch from first to third place in our Technology & Innovation and Social Impact tracks.  First place received $3,000, Second place received $2,000, and Third place received $1,000 to put towards their ideas.  Each team is eligible to apply for an additional $2,000 in six months if they are still pursuing their idea.  Now, for what you’ve been waiting for- the results!


Technology & Innovation Track: 

First Place- Haven Cloud, Faheel Kamran & Mahmoud Shalby

Second Place- Crypto Briefcase, Noah Masri & Talon Schroeder

Third Place- Xeddy, Basil Udo


Social Impact Track:

First Place- Seeker, Michael Chapman

Second Place- Pennies for Pointe, Kayla Massey

Third Place- Plus One Technology, Tamara Buchanan



Innovation Works IW + MC Boost Summer 2022 Application 


Deadline: Tuesday, May 31st 


The Boost program is a joint entrepreneurial development workshop between IW and Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship. The 4-day program is designed to help leaders of established Baltimore-based organizations (nonprofit, for-profit, and hybrid social enterprises) learn business fundamentals, improve their strategic thinking, and articulate a business plan that demonstrates social impact, a path to growth, and long-term financial sustainability.
