Competitions

The Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship hosts two annual competitions:

Spring Semester: The Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition (CBIC)

The CBIC is an opportunity for UMBC graduate and undergraduate students who are serious about starting a business or social impact venture in the near future, to pitch their idea and win money to support their launch. Participants will develop a competitive and realistic 3-5 page business plan as an entry and finalists will work with a mentor to refine it and develop a 7 minute pitch on their idea in a final competition.

UMBC is one of the most innovative schools in the nation, so UMBC students are the kind of innovators that can change the world!

This competition began in Spring 2014 and is held annually. Click the link above for more information and to apply.

Fall Semester: UMBC’s Idea and Innovation Challenge

The UMBC Idea and Innovation Challenge is designed to challenge you to think about problems and opportunities facing society. If UMBC is one of the most innovative schools in the nation, then UMBC students are just the kind of innovators that can really change the world. Now’s your chance to make it happen.
