Entrepreneurial Learning Lab for Students

The text says "UMBC Entrepreneurial Learning Lab" on a black background. Behind the words is a background with pictures of calculators, piggy banks, coins with a dollar sign, lightbulbs, and other objects that remind people of money and finances. The ELL is a semester-long, cohort-based program where students learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and innovation, then apply these skills by evaluating the commercialization or social-impact potential of faculty-led research projects. This experience is ideal for students interested in product development, consulting, research, design, entrepreneurship, or innovation in any field.

Students who complete the program will earn internship credit and a $250 stipend.

Undergraduate and graduate students from all majors are eligible to participate.  Students must be committed to attending all workshops and completing the project work.

No prior entrepreneurship experience is required.

There is also an additional paid opportunity (up to $1,000) upon completion of the program, to work on a summer project related to the research development.

Applications will open soon for the Spring 2027 cohort of the Entrepreneurial Learning Lab!

This program is funded by a grant from TEDCO and is offered through partnership between the Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (ABCEI) and the Engineering and Computing Education Program (ECEP).
