Fall 2016 Scholarship Opportunities for ENTR Student

Scholarship applications for ENTR students now available!

Scholarships for students who demonstrate a strong interest in entrepreneurship are now available through the Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship for the 2016/17 academic year.


The Joseph and Frieda Faiman Eisenberg/VPC Endowed Scholarship is available for UMBC undergraduate students and the deadline for applying isSeptember 30, 2016.


The PNC Scholars/Fellows Program is available for UMBC graduate and undergraduate students and awards can be applied as academic scholarships or “seed funding” for an entrepreneurial venture.  Deadline for applying is October 7, 2016.

PNC SCHOLARS/FELLOWS PROGRAM


The PNC Scholars/Fellows Program provides awards up to $3,000 to outstanding UMBC students interested in becoming an entrepreneur. The scholarship will be awarded for the 2016 - 2017 academic year. The awards will be used as academic scholarships (up to $1,000), or as “seed funding” (up to $2,000) to launch new ventures or community based social entrepreneurship projects.  


CRITERIA:


  • Submit a 1-2 page personal statement about their interest in entrepreneurship.  The statement should:


  • Describe the impact an academic scholarship will have on their future as an entrepreneur or social innovator or


  • Describe how the award money will be used as “seed funding” to launch a new venture, or “seed funding” to launch a community based social entrepreneurship project.  Submit a preliminary budget outlining anticipated expenses.


  • Submit an updated resume


  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0

JOSEPH AND FRIEDA FAIMAN EISENBERG/ VPC ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP



The Joseph and Frieda Faiman Eisenberg/VPC Endowed Scholarship provides a $500 scholarship award to an outstanding UMBC undergraduate interested in becoming an entrepreneur. The scholarship will be awarded for the 2016-2017 academic year.  



CRITERIA:


  • Be a full-time degree-seeking student in good standing at UMBC


  • Submit a personal statement about their interest in entrepreneurship


  • Submit a resume


  • Demonstrate an interest in becoming an entrepreneur


  • Have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average
