Event #1 on MONDAY: Entrepreneurs Panel

The team at the Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ABCEI) is excited to host our upcoming Speaker Series event next Monday afternoon, October 31st from 12-1pm in University Center 310. 

This Entrepreneurs Panel event will feature four Retriever Alumni: 

• Chris Adams '15, Founder & CEO of SharpRank
• Michael Ogunsanya '22, CEO & Co-Founder of MindStand Technologies
• Faheel Kamran '22 & Mahmoud Shalby '22, Co-Founders of Haven Cloud

During this presentation, each panelist will share about their entrepreneurial journey as well as answer questions from the audience. This is going to be an amazing opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs!

Event #2 on WEDNESDAY: Workshop with Elizabeth Dougherty

This event will feature Elizabeth Dougherty, who is the Eastern Regional Outreach Director at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. During her presentation titled,Intellectual Property 101, Elizabeth will discuss intellectual property (IP) basics and potential ways to protect your innovations as you transition from idea to product. 

This session will cover:

• What is the USPTO?
• An overview of intellectual property types: patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets
• Why innovators and entrepreneurs should consider protecting their IP
• How to get started in protecting your intellectual property
