Join us March 7th from noon to 1 pm in University Center 115—for a workshop with Jason Pappas, one of our very own entrepreneurship professors. He’ll be sharing his “Funding Basics” for entrepreneurs at all levels. If you’re looking to uncover some new resources, have no idea where to start your funding quest, or would like to ask an expert for advice, this is where you should be next week. We hope you’re as excited as we are!
About The Event
This workshop will
provide a basic understanding of funding options for entrepreneurial companies. It will detail the
nuances between equity, debt, hybrid, and
crowdsourcing funding instruments and what options are available at different times in a company's
lifecycle. It will also give students
a decision tree on how to determine which funding may be right for them at any particular time.
About Jason
Prior
to co-founding Antson Capital Partners, Jason served in a variety of senior
executive positions for operating companies. Jason was the CEO of EntreQuest, Inc., a high-growth sales and leadership
consulting, training, and staffing
organization he co-founded in 2000 and subsequently sold in 2008. Following
EntreQuest, he was COO of Progressus Therapy, LLC, where he led an organizational turnaround that achieved
triple-digit gains in both growth and
production within six months. In 2010, he created
Hanix, a management and strategic
consulting firm.
Jason has been a columnist for SmartCEO Magazine
and Microsoft's Partner Channel Magazine.
His articles have also appeared in The American Salesman, Baltimore Business Journal, and The Daily Record. The
Baltimore Business Journal honored Jason
as one of the "Top 40 Under 40" in 2003.
Jason graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s
degree in Economics and Political Science
and was a letter winner on the varsity football team. He also graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law
with a Juris Doctorate specializing in
Finance and Taxation.
In the community, Jason is the past Chairman of
the Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of
the Greater Chesapeake and the Greater Baltimore Technology Council. He is an adjunct professor of
entrepreneurship at the University of
Maryland, Baltimore County and serves as an adjunct professor of sales, marketing and management at Towson University.
He has also been a guest lecturer for the
MBA programs of both Loyola College and the University of Baltimore.
